Seekers Christian Fellowships

Seekers Christian Fellowships is a unique and dynamic cross-denominational model of campus youth ministry comprised of over twenty clubs, consisting of approximately 1,000 students in one out of every four traditional high schools and in both public and private colleges throughout the metropolitan New York area. Each club is initiated and governed by student leaders. On a weekly basis, Seekers meet for Bible study, fellowship, prayer, and outreach. At a time when most inner-city schools are racially divided, Seekers stand out as positive role models. They organize campus-wide events such as debates and food drives, as well as two citywide events: an annual Unity Retreat to train young people to promote multi-cultural unity and Jesus Day-a tool to mobilize students to share their faith with classmates.

Unity Retreat

Every year, Seekers students coordinate a Unity Retreat that centers on one spiritual theme and serves the purpose of bringing all different racial and ethnic backgrounds of Seekers to learn and worship together.Unity Retreat takes place February 16-18, 2010 at the Taconic Retreat & Conference Center in Milan, NY.

Jesus Day

Jesus Day began in 1990. Davis Sung, a Townsend Harris High School student, had a vision for students to celebrate Jesus. It would be a day of Prayer, Proclamation, and Evangelism. Jesus Day has always been student-centered and run. A student-run Jesus Day committee plans and coordinates activities for Jesus Day. Evangelism is carried out by students - inside and outside their schools - as they pass out tracts and gospels and pray for their schools.Jesus Day will take place May 20, 2010.
